Jordan Shawl

I’m so excited to announce the launch of my Jordan Shawl. This design has been a long time coming and holds a special place in my heart. I thought of the idea for this shawl last spring during our trip to Israel & Jordan, for which this shawl is named. While exploring the rolling sands of the desert, I thought about an easy shawl that would be quietly elegant just like the desert. When I got home I looked through my stash and the Cattail Silk stood out to me as the perfect choice and the color perfectly matched the color of the Jordan sky at sunset.

The main body of the shawl is worked from one corner to the other in Stockinette stitch with a delicate lace border on both sides. Stitches are gradually increased to create the shawl depth and then decreases are worked to the other corner.

Once the piece has been knit, a lace edging will be knit on that perfectly accentuates the lace border of the shawl. The garter stitch lace edging is an easy to memorize pattern and before you know it you’ll have a completed shawl to wear and love.

I hope you enjoy this design as much as I do, and I’d love to follow along your process with #jordanshawlkkd
